<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Getting your bugs in a row</bold>: A microfluidic device for manipulating and monitoring the continuous growth of populations of bacteria within microdroplets was developed (see scheme).
