- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>The different reactivity</bold> of two kinds of carbonyl groups in keto aldehyde substrates has been exploited for the synthesis of phenanthrols, naphthols, and their heteroatom‐containing analogues.
