- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Carbon nanotubes</bold>: The end section of a carbon nanotube, cut by acid treatment, contains hydrophilic oxygen groups, around which water molecules can assemble to block the entry of the tube.
