Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>A new cyclic peptide containing the <italic>iso</italic>DGR motif</bold> that, after coupling to albumin, selectively binds αvβ3, an integrin overexpressed in the tumor vasculature. <italic>Iso</italic>DGR‐tagged albumin binds tumor vessels and can be exploited as a carrier for the preparation of tumor vasculature‐selective nanomedicines, such as gold nanoparticles (Au) carrying tumor necrosis factor α (TNF), a potent vascular damaging agent. <boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgg1vb23cxw" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
