Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <sec id="pssb201248495-sec-0001" sec-type="section"> <p>The internal friction and shear modulus for the particulate magnetoelectric composite (<italic>x</italic>)PbZr_0.53Ti_0.47O₃–(1 − <italic>x</italic>) Mn_0.4Zn_0.6Fe₂O₄ have been studied over a temperature range from room temperature to 670 K. In the vicinity of the ferroelectric phase transition temperature, we have observed the internal friction peak that is explained in terms of the fluctuation model. The "residual" internal friction near the ferroelectric Curie point has also been revealed. The "residual" internal friction is assumed to be due to the interaction of domain boundaries in PbZr_0.53Ti_0.47O₃ with point defects.</p> </sec> </abstract>
