<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="ppsc201370026-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>Carbon‐encapsulated iron nanoparticles (Fe@Cs) with core/shell hierarchical porous structure are produced from starch and used for removing thiophene in liquid fuels.
