Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <sec id="mame201300012-sec-0001" sec-type="section"> <p>Isoporous integral‐asymmetric membranes of tailor‐made poly(<italic>tert</italic>‐butylstyrene)‐ and poly(4‐trimethylsilylstyrene)‐<italic>block</italic>‐poly(4‐vinylpyridine) diblock copolymers are reported here for the first time. The membrane development involved the optimization of the production process—which is a combination of block copolymer self‐assembly and the non‐solvent induced phase inversion process. The membranes showed an improved thermal and chemical stability compared to previously reported polystyrene‐<italic>block</italic>‐poly(4‐vinylpyridine) membranes, thus the number of potential application areas for such type of isoporous membranes is increased.<inline-graphic xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgg3zmns8gk" content-type="mame201300012-gra-0001" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></p> </sec> </abstract>
