Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Chemical investigation on the stem and root of <italic>Melicope pteleifolia</italic> afforded three new prenylated benzene metabolites as racemic mixtures, named pteleifolins A–C (<bold>1</bold>–<bold>3</bold>, resp.). Their gross structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis, especially 2D‐NMR experiments. An enantiomer resolution of (±)‐<bold>1</bold> using chiral HPLC was performed, and the absolute configuration of the enantiomers were determined to be (+)‐(<italic>S</italic>)<italic>‐</italic><bold>1</bold> and (−)‐(<italic>R</italic>)<italic>‐</italic><bold>1</bold> by means of circular‐dichroism analysis.</p> </abstract>
