Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Two new tricyclic sesterterpenes, fusaprolifins A and B (<bold>1</bold> and <bold>2</bold>), and three new 2<italic>H‐</italic>pyran‐2‐one derivatives, prolipyrones A – C (<bold>3</bold>–<bold>5</bold>), were isolated and characterized from <italic>Fusarium proliferatum</italic> MA‐84, an endophytic fungus obtained from the fresh tissue of the marine mangrove plant <italic>Bruguiera sexangula.</italic> In addition, two known sesterterpenes, terpestacin (<bold>6</bold>) and fusaproliferin (<bold>7</bold>), and one known 2<italic>H</italic>‐pyran‐2‐one derivative, gibepyrone D (<bold>8</bold>), were also identified. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by detailed spectroscopic analyses. Fusaprolifin A (<bold>1</bold>) showed moderate activity against brine shrimp (<italic>Artemia salina</italic>), with a lethality rate of 49.5% at 100 μg/ml, while fusaprolifin B (<bold>2</bold>) showed weak activity.</p> </abstract>
