Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>The efficient synthesis of (<italic>S</italic>)‐dihydroresorcylide (<bold>1a</bold>) along with <italic>trans</italic>‐resorcylide dimethyl ether (<bold>2b</bold>), was achieved in linear 9 steps from commercially available orcinol monohydrate (<bold>6</bold>) with esterification, carbonylation, and ring‐closing metathesis (RCM) as the key steps in the synthetic sequence.</p> </abstract>
