- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>Carbon dioxide can serve as a C<sub>1</sub> building block for chemical syntheses. To increase the reactivity of CO<sub>2</sub> it may be reduced to carbon monoxide with hydrogen using an adsorptive reactor for the reverse water gas shift (rWGS) reaction. Both model simulations and experimental studies have been conducted to demonstrate the proof of principle and to assess the performance of an adsorptive rWGS reactor. The results show that application of the adsorptive reactor concept increased the equilibrium conversion at 225 – 250 °C significantly.</p> </abstract>
