<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>LiMn<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub> rods are prepared by hydrothermal preparation of β‐MnO<sub>2</sub> precursor rods from MnSO<sub>4</sub> and NaClO<sub>3</sub> (autoclave, 150 °C, 10 h) followed by lithiation in ethanolic LiOH solution and calcination in air (700 °C, 8 h for sample A, or 900 °C, 3 h, sample B).</p> </abstract>
