<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Cs<sub>2</sub>BaTa<sub>6</sub>Br<sub>15</sub>O<sub>3</sub> and Cs<sub>2</sub>LaTa<sub>6</sub>Br<sub>15</sub>O<sub>3</sub> are obtained from stoichiometric mixtures of Ta, Ta<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub>, TaBr<sub>5</sub>, CsCl, and BaBr<sub>2</sub> or La<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> (sealed silica container, 650—690 °C, 3 d).</p> </abstract>
