Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="adom201370052-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>When gold nanoparticles meet strongly fluorescent dye molecules, the fluorescence of the molecules is quenched. On page 581, organo‐soluble thiol monolayer‐protected gold nanoparticles of different shapes and sizes are homogeneously mixed with perylene dye molecules by Q. Li and co‐workers, in both solution and solid states. The nanoparticles modify the fluorescence properties of perylene depending on the particle size and shape.
