<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>U<sub>3</sub>F<sub>12</sub>(H<sub>2</sub>O) is synthesized via a mild hydrothermal route using UO<sub>2</sub>(O‐Ac)<sub>2</sub>(H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>2</sub>, Cu(O‐Ac)<sub>2</sub>(H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>2</sub>, Hf and H<sub>2</sub>O (autoclave, 200 °C, 1 d) followed by elemental Cu dissolution.</p> </abstract>
