Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>Laser‐induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) are introduced as powerful tools for surface multifunctionalization. The preparation of attractive optical, electrical, magnetic, and catalytic properties is exemplified on common stainless steel to demonstrate the general applicability. As Norbert Hampp and co‐workers show <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">on page 3313</ext-link>, the LIPSS process is not limited to small objects.
