- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>The title species are prepared from various nitro(pentafluorosulfanyl)benzene derivatives: catalytic hydrogenation of substrates (I) and (III) directly provides the target indoles; sulfon‐substituted substrates (VIII) are converted into 2‐arylindoles via nitro group reduction, imine formation, and base‐induced cyclization.</p> </abstract>
