- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Dissolution of Rb<sub>4</sub>Sn<sub>4</sub> in liquid ammonia and dissolution of K<sub>6</sub>Rb<sub>6</sub>Si<sub>17</sub> in liquid ammonia in the presence of [2.2.2]‐cryptand leads to the formation of charged Zintl ions Sn<sub>4</sub><sup>4‐</sup> and Si<sub>4</sub><sup>4‐</sup>, respectively.</p> </abstract>
