- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Exposure to carbon nanotubes induces significant changes in cellular biomechanics.</bold> Using nanoindentation, it is observed that the exposed cells have significantly higher stiffness when compared to controls, especially at the nuclear region, and significant increases in surface area. <boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgg26mdfnf2" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
