Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>New assembly line, new compound:</bold> SIA7248, a new symmetric macrolide, was isolated from a marine‐derived <italic>Streptomyces</italic> strain. Bioinformatic analyses of the identified biosynthetic gene cluster (<italic>sia</italic>) for SIA7248 suggested a polyketide biosynthesis utilizing an iteratively <italic>trans</italic>‐acting ketoreductase (KR).
