<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Light it up!</bold> We demonstrate a novel way to reduce the chloride sensitivity of yellow fluorescent protein by inserting glycine residues in its loop region.
