<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Fretful novelty:</bold> We developed two novel doubly labelled fluorescent ceramide analogues that exhibit significant FRET and undergo hydrolysis by ceramidases.
