Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Cultivation of the fungal strain <italic>Annulohypoxylon ilanense</italic>, an endophytic fungus isolated from the wood of medicinal plant <italic>Cinnamomum</italic> species, resulted in the isolation of one new furanoid derivative, ilanefuranone (<bold>1</bold>), one new pyrrole alkaloid, ilanepyrrolal (<bold>2</bold>), and one new biarylpropanoid derivative, ilanenoid (<bold>3</bold>), together with 22 known compounds, of which one <italic>α</italic>‐tetralone analog, (−)‐(4<italic>R</italic>)‐3, 4‐dihydro‐4, 6‐dihydroxynaphthalen‐1(2<italic>H</italic>)‐one (<bold>4</bold>) was isolated for the first time from a natural source. The structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical evidence, in‐depth NMR spectroscopic analysis, and high‐resolution mass spectrometry, and the antimycobacterial activities were also evaluated.</p> </abstract>
