- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Polycrystalline samples of La<sub>1‐x</sub>Mg<sub>x</sub>O<sub>1‐2x</sub>F<sub>2x</sub>BiS<sub>2</sub> (x = 0.1—0.35) are prepared by solid state reactions of stoichiometric mixtures of La<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, La<sub>2</sub>S<sub>3</sub>, Bi<sub>2</sub>S<sub>3</sub>, BiF<sub>3</sub>, MgF<sub>2</sub>, LaF<sub>3</sub>, MgO, S, and Bi (evacuated quartz tube, 1073 K, 10 h).</p> </abstract>
