- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Binary oxides such as V<sub>4</sub>O<sub>9</sub>, Mn<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub> or MnO, CoO, and Cu<sub>2</sub>O are prepared within a short reaction time of 30 min by reduction of V<sub>2</sub>O<sub>5</sub>, MnO<sub>2</sub>, Co<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>, or CuO with tetraethylene glycol under microwave irradiation at <300 °C.</p> </abstract>
