There is limited quantitative data on soft tissue aging of the face.</p> </sec> <sec id="dsu12362-sec-0002" sec-type="section"> <title>Objective</title> <p>Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was used to quantify and compare facial soft tissue loss over time.</p> </sec> <sec id="dsu12362-sec-0003" sec-type="section"> <title>Methods and Materials</title> <p>Two thousand thirty‐seven MRI scans from 58 women divided into young, middle‐aged, and older groups were screened. A blinded radiologist used MRI to measure the temporal, infraorbital, and medial and lateral cheek areas.</p> </sec> <sec id="dsu12362-sec-0004" sec-type="section"> <title>Results</title> <p>The mean thickness of the subcutaneous tissue in the temporal area was 12.3, 8.4, and 8.9 mm in the young, middle‐aged, and older groups, respectively (<italic>p</italic> &lt; .001).
