- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en" id="jar12006-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <sec id="jar12006-sec-0001" sec-type="section"> <title>Aim</title> <p>To explore the experience of 'lay therapists' of a group‐based cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) anger management intervention.</p> </sec> <sec id="jar12006-sec-0002" sec-type="section"> <title>Background</title> <p>Staff employed in daytime opportunity services for adults with intellectual disabilities took on the role of 'lay therapist' to facilitate CBT groups.</p> </sec> <sec id="jar12006-sec-0003" sec-type="section"> <title>Methods</title> <p>They were trained and supervised by clinical psychologists and interviewed 2–6 weeks after the last group session.
