<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>The cell surface receptors TREM‐1 and TREM‐2 are highly expressed on inflammatory cells in the lungs of individuals with pulmonary sarcoidosis. Simultaneous testing of TREM‐1 and TREM‐2 expression has high sensitivity and specificity for sarcoidosis from other interstitial lung diseases.</p> </abstract>
